During this simulation, I represented the countries of Africa and Europe. Although my partners tried to constantly sell a many countries as we can to the USSR I thought that we should listen to both countries bidding first. I was angered when a representative from the USA came to bid, and my partner kicked them out because he was dealing with the USSR instead. If you really want to get money, you have to let the other side try to overbid and then there will be a constant over bid until one side decides to give up and only then do you get the real good price.
And for the winners and losers, the USA and the USSR are the losers. They are the ones who lost all the nuclear missiles and stuff, while the countries on the side are the true winners, because they were the ones who never had any losses. In the real world though, the countries at peace were the true winners, because they were able to stay off to the side without any losses.

Varun,
I completely agree with the strategy that you were using - having both the countries bid and the one with the bigger bid takes it. It wasn't very smart of your partner to kick a USA representative out. They could've sent nuclear missiles at you for favouring their enemy. I agree when you say: "there will be a constant bid" because that is what continents like us want - money (points)
I agree with you when you say that USA and USSR lost the nuclear missiles, but i have to disagree about the fact that they were the ultimate winners. I didn't think the same becuase though USA and USSR lost some of their nuclear weapons, they still had their land. at the end they ended up with most of the land and the land with the best natural resources which lead them succes. We only got money, that doesn't help us anymore since they have left the game with most of the best countries. We only have the choices to buy from each other that don't own much of the countries with nice natural resources. Also they won't need to buy from us, and they won't be needing money since they will probably be making alot of money with the resources.
overall varun,
very nice post!
